Allocated time per player was set too low, now what ?

Post by ThomasGBDX »

Hi,

I created a kami tournament (https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=86631) and set the time per player per game to 30h. Which is too low. For the two first rounds, 14 tables, only 3 (!) finished in time. One could have finished but a player decided to kick one player (which is a recurrent problem on BGA).

Because players that don't play often enough will have few points, maybe they will end playing together and the others tables will be able to finish but I'm not optimistic.

Is it possible to do something ? Can an admin set the time higher ?

once you've launched the tournament you cannot change any settings.

It is recommended to set the time per player high when starting to create tournaments (I use 15 days per match for 2 player matches). If many games end early, you can reduce time on subsequent tournaments.

"One could have finished but a player decided to kick one player (which is a recurrent problem on BGA)."

It does *NOT* help at all that the other players receive an email stating that the player is over time and they are encouraged to skip their turn.
