"Medina" arena rules aren't competitive

Post by Etoclas »

Hi all!

I saw that Medina in the arena has 4 players. This is adding a lot of random interaction between players in a highly tactic and strategic game with 0 luck.

I suggest setting 2 players only, since adding more player would just cause interactions that will facilitate just a player, and this is not the spirit of a competitive mode.

Furthermore, except for the fountain, all the options are disabled. Why? They are really nice and balanced.

What do you think about it?

I think that by default, developers select for the first arena season the options that are "the most beginner friendly", and the player count recognised to be "the best for the game". For example, Medina is listed on boardgamegeek as "2-4 player, best at 4".

Those options can be changed by popular demand, some games even going for a rotation of options or player count from seasons to seasons.

Seems that Medina 2nd edition made a great job into making 2p mode a viable game.
I'm interested in reading more about the 4p vs 2p qualities/differences.
