BGA using cookies without your consent

I recently discovered BGA wich seemed like a great website but is trying to force me to get a premium account by spying on private informations without any autorisation.
My sister and I are trying to play with friends online but because we (obviously) live in the same place, we can't play together with our friends at the same time. But even if we connect on 2 differents IP adresses and after deleting all cookies and navigation data, this website is still saying that we are in the same place, wich means that this website is getting your location without your consent, wich is illegal in the EU, according to the GDPR, article 7.

This website is a scam

The Confidentiality and Cookies page describes all the data collected, it includes your IP address. You were both connected at the same address at some point, I suppose the website considers you live at the same location based on your history.

I don't see where the scam is, the conditions specifically says that you cannot play from the same location and you are trying to do so. Licenses for games aren't free, and publishers agree to put their game here considering you cannot play from the same address.

Only one of you need to be premium to play together.

That doesn't prove it uses more than IP address, it shows it uses more than the current IP address. I believe there is some IP history so if they match then this will pop up, even if you aren't in the same place at the moment.

Based on your IP address history and maybe other parameters, BGA determines you live at the same location.

Even if you erase your navigation data, you still have to connect to your account to play... Erasing your navigation data doesn't erase your account and the things you did with it.

Why would you think it would do that ? How does the platform is supposed to compute ELO, know who your friends are, ... otherwise ?

This is clearly unfair and nearly illegal to force someone to pay while others don't have to while they are in the same situation. In civilised societies, we call that discrimination.

At least, BGA should try to allow playing with the same IP adress if we play in private games with people that are not at the same place. Because here, me and my sister are just forbidden to play with our friends at the same time. This is clearly unfair to pay to resolve this situation.

Why is "playing from the same location" restricted to Premium members?
Playing on BGA from the same location is not something common since if you are at the same place you can play the real physical board game. It makes sense to make it a Premium feature, so that using BGA remains a way to discover and enjoy board games with the whole world and does not become a means to avoid buying the real physical game.

With this restriction, we also intend to limit the potential for cheaters to play against themselves in order to boost their rankings.
