Puerto Rico rules question

Hello everybody.

In Puerto Rico, is it ok to have more than one of the same type of building on your player mat?
I know it would not be advantagous in most situations, but is it in the rules?

The rules state that a player can not have the same building more than once.

You can't have a building when it is the same as the building you have had.
