if i try to start play i always see this sign: "Solo mode for this game can only be played in Training mode".
I have all settings in default
I refresh my web browser
I tried to logout and login
So whats wrong?

Nothing's wrong. Just switch from "Normal mode" to "Training Mode" and you'll be good to go.

I don't think it's bad taste at all. The aim of the game is to cure the diseases. And it is just a game.

Sorry if you are one of the ones who lost someone, it's been a terrible time for a lot of people.

However, i think the escapism that board games bring (even if they mimic real-life situations) does far more good than harm.

Nothing's wrong. Just switch from "Normal mode" to "Training Mode" and you'll be good to go.

How to change the mode?

Under Table Configuration when setting up a game. There's a drop down box that says Game Mode, just switch that from Normal Mode to Training Mode. Difference is that you don't get penalties but you don't get any ELO ranking change (to prevent people using solo to abuse ranking system i guess)

Well, JUST consider, you as a young person returning to school just after losing a parent and the first novel that is put forth to read and essay about (DO schools still require students to write at all, anymore), is a book about a Pandemic.

Being a cooperative game or with little koom-by-YAaaah happy feelings aside, ... it is still bad taste and very insensitive!!

THERE is no getting past a situation when all people get are steady reminders!
People in general have a hard enough time getting past things in life - ordinarily; (those who are not aware of Abraham Hicks etc). Please be kind and gentle in your choices.

Perhaps people will just not play this (odd) game. Since it would be bad taste.

How do we actually get access to play it? I keep getting an error message: Unexpected error: Solo mode for this game can only be played in Training mode. This happens whenever I try to enter from the Play Now page.
