Should the next arena season be 4 or 5 player in a new rotation format

People want rotation:
4 player - 5 player - 4 player - 3 player.

This year we already had 4 player and now 3 player. Should we have 5 player after 3 player and then 4 player. In this case the new year would be:
3 player - 4 player - 5 player - 4 player as we have four arena seasons each year.

Or should we go: 4 player - 5 player so new year is going to be exactly like this year:
4 player - 3 player - 4 player - 5 player.

I'm personally voting for 5 player now as I want more variety and I've warmed up to 5 player a lot.

It looks like we cannot vote if our opinion is to exclude five player entirely? There is no option for only four-player games. Seems a bit peculiar to have a poll with a partially predetermined outcome.

At the post you link to there are 23 votes in favor of options without 5 player in the rotation and 23 votes in favor of options with it. The choice of options in the poll may obscure the fact that there is no majority for the inclusion of 5 player.

Player knowing the result of the poll can change their option to the other option to exclude 5 player.
It is also fairly standard for democracies to vote like this. There is no option of voting "against X party", you are voting for something out of multiple options and the highest scoring one wins. I understand your concerns, but at this point in time there is no better way to do this for next season, in my opinion.

@Patrick of the Isles. There is no obscurity at all. If you do not like 5 players, just vote for 4 players in the current poll about the next season. If you want to leave your opinion on the more general scheme of the 7Wonders Arena Setting, you can do so in the thread I linked to. The other thread is still up for evaluation by the admins. They will probably also take site statistics and practicality concerns into account (e.g. how much will average waiting time increase for the 5p setup?).

Unfortunately it seems that the 7Wonders community is particularly divided and scattered with strong opinions about the best setup.

I think that the best compromise here is to have different player counts each season.

Well, we look at it a bit differently, and that in itself may be evidence for obscurity. My point was that if one created a poll with "should the arena season include 5 players" the data suggest there would be an even division between yes and no. Dividing the no between two options while keeping the yes as a unified option may have given the false impression that the 5 player option had support.

I don't mean to be tedious or argumentative, I just wanted to note frankly that I've had conversations with many players on this site who enjoy 7 Wonders, but have been waiting until the generally less-pleasant three player arena season was over to get back to the more-enjoyable four player arena games. These players might consider it quite irksome if the four player season they had been looking forward to for several months was cancelled suddenly and at the last moment.

Yes, the poll was quite a "2 polls in 1". There was two questions: "should arena include 5 player?" and "should arena include 3 player?", that were combined into a single question. Interestingly, the poller didn't consider the option "4-5-4-5". I'm not sure why someone interested in 5p would necessarily be interested in 3p too.
