Hi! There is a group of us that have been getting online for a couple hours three times a week to play games while zooming at the same time. We do a lot of playtesting for physical games, but are still in cities with COVID lockdowns so have been doing all our gaming online. I’m a reviewer level, but they are still (rapidly) getting their playcount up high enough.

If possible, I’d love to have them in on the alpha testing of this so we could be playing it during our game nights. We’re always happy to provide notes about what we see.

Their user names:
dan_peterson
jphillipson
ABMC
mgaler

Hopefully we can loop them in!

Can i join the alpha for Bohnanza?

I love this game and would love to help find bugs/improve on this game.

Thanks

Great game implementation.

Regarding the bidding I get slowly used to it but haven't been able to think about a more intuitive implementation.

What's the difference between "wait" and "done trading"? If there are new offers on the table, is it still possible to trade after clicking on "done" or do I keep pressing "wait" until there is no new offer?

I found out that there is no possibility to accept a trade after hitting the done Button.

In a game with 3 player there was the following situation where I'm unsure if this is a bug I should report or how it should work:

Player 1 posted some trades. Player 3 was done trading. And I as player 2 accepted one of the offers on the table.
Instead of instantly accepting the offer and procede with the game the state changed to player 1 considering.

I understand this in a case where there are several players waiting, but if there is only one player left accepting the offer?

Hi, we tested the game Bohnanza on Alpha (table 185673730) - unfortunately we decided to stop it in the second round because the majority of the players found it unplayable. The trading process is so confusing and messy that it is really no fun. The difference between "Wait" and "Considering" remains unclear - the whole presentation of this game with the many windows and unclear information cannot remain like this - unfortunately, no approval from our tester group so far.

Are we getting close to a Beta version? This is a great game, but the trading aspect needs to be kept as simple as possible.

Also, can I gain access to test it? I have played this game dozens of times and know how the trading should feel. I also code on spare time and would be able to provide suggestions

Great game for BGA, but it does not play properly currently. First, the game starts with three bean fields, which is incorrect. Per the rules, you start with two and can buy a third. Second, the game ends after two passes of the deck at the start of Round 3. It should go through the deck three times and end at the end of the third round.

Otherise, the game played pretty well.

This may depend on the ruleset, we got the licence from the German publisher Amigo and implemented the original German game rules; I think there have been variations in the rules for the US.

Overall, the game is functional but we haven't found a clear system for the free trading involved in the game. We tried several successive versions with the developer but this is a tough nut to crack. We decided to put the game in alpha to see if we got good suggestions about trading from players that could bring us closer to the feel of the game.

Turns out I had my head up my ass.

I went back to the rules after your reply (which I probably should have done before your reply). The three field issue stemmed from the fact it was a 3-player game. I guess I have always played with four or more, so I didn't realize the a 3P game starts you with three fields. Makes sense given the lower number of farmers.

Also, I went back to. the replay, and the game did finish after three rounds, though I swear it was only two.

My apologies. Y'all are doing great.
