What does waiting time mean?

Post by Jellby »

What does "waiting time" mean next to "Create a new table"? I thought it would be something like the average or expected time you'd have to wait until the table is full, but it says 10 minutes for all games, those that fill up almost immediately (7 Wonders), and those that take ages (Hand & Foot). It seems to add no useful information and it's actually misleading.

Pretty much nothing, as you said. It's probably there to keep people queued (if people were given an accurate estimate, they would just quit some games immediately) and provide some illusion of control: https://www.interaction-design.org/lite ... of-control

Personally I'd just do away with it as well.

It would be nice if there were an algorithm in place that could sense how many online users there are who "actively" play the game. With active being has played it in the last 2 weeks + possibly ELO above 50-100 (not total newbies who've only played it a single time).
