Three and a half localization issues and a minor problem

Post by LennyLinux »

Hi :ugeek:
The Swedish translation is running on very well. Pretty much all the games I know and a few more are translated and I'm working on getting to know the last few to put out a translation for those too (and too play them, of course!).

(Then there's some testing to be done for a few of the games, of course, but I've been playing most of them post-translation - will play the other ones soon)

Anyway, during my journey I've encountered a few problems. Namely:
(when editing a group) LB_WHO_CAN_SEND_GROUP_CHAT_MESSAGES
(when playing in a tournament) LB_YOUR_NEXT_MATCHES

I'm not sure this has to do with localization, but I suspect so:
When registering for a tournament, the dialogue box asking for confirmation is super-wide)
This is on a Mac (latest OS X) with latest version of Google Chrome.

Finally, a minor detail from the player info page. Where it says "member since" the date is shown in a foreign format. This may seem minor, and it is, but this kind of formatting is actually very confusing since it's completely backwards and the year is only written in two digits. Had I not remembered when I registered this would really have been open to all three interpretations (DDMMYY, YYMMDD and YYDDMM).

EDIT: This one seems to work now, no idea what fixed it. :-)
(when starting a game) LB_GAMEREADY_MESSAGE_A_TEMPORARY_ABSENCE

Hi !

Thanks for this report on the Swedish translation, and for your work translating!

1) I checked and the first string is now correctly translated and displayed. The second is not correctly translated in the translation center, so it displays as it should. You can fix it: http://sv.boardgamearena.com/#!translat ... _YOUR_NEXT

2) Not linked to translations, this seems to happen only on Google Chrome... Strange.

3) The date format for a language is available inside the translation system. By default it is m / d / Y, but you can 'translate' it to what is best for your language : http://sv.boardgamearena.com/#!translat ... 0d%20/%20Y
So this has been the choice of the translator at the time, you can change it if it's not right.

Cheers,
Een

1) How come this says LB_YOUR_NEXT_MATCHES doesn't shows as being "LB_YOUR_NEXT_MATCHES" in English? Anyway I'm fixing it now.
2) Ah OK. I did see it happen in another game when I was kicking a player who had gone offline; the warning message had the same problem.
3) I changed it to Y-m-d. This should translate to 2013-02-15 for today right?

1) It didn't ? Anyway I fixed it in English too. 'LB_*' strings should always be translated.
2) We changed some css properties for dialog boxes. Hopefully this will be solved with next release.
3) Yes, that's right (I just checked and it works).

1) Hm, perhaps it just takes time to update in the translate interface. (much like the changes on the site aren't immediate either)
2,3) Neat. :-)
