I never had a problem saying gg at the end of a
fair game or sports even if I lose.
But, if the opponent committed fouls then I would never say gg. And if they say gg? Then it is no different from an insult in such a case.
This is the type of specific situation I am referring to.
I think it’s fair to say gg even if either one of us commits a blunder. Just because someone messed up at one point (potentially causing them the game) doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a good game or a good effort. I think it’s the process that matters, not the outcome.
So if an experienced player let's say... kingmakes someone, or makes a totally illogical move in a game, leaving the other players shocked, and then says "gg"... are the other ones forbidden to express their disatisfaction, otherwise they are all "s*re losers"?
Unless their disatisfaction contains insults, i think they are entitled to criticise, and no "gg" has its place in such a case. (of course they might get moderated 'cause no mather how diplomatic the criticising is, the "gg" person might feel insulted, even if (s)he ruined the game).
I disagree with what you are saying, and i find it disrespectful towards most of competitive players.
This is a gaming site, after all, and most games are on a competitive level.
In my personal opinion, i think too many people act like the games are some social gathering, a party, yoga, or whatever... and they take the "i play just for FUN" to some... unrealistic levels.
And if/when they simply ruin a game, and are asked about it, instead of saying "sorry", explain the reasoning or anything similar, they come up with "lol", "haha", "chill, don't be m*d, just a game".
Like a person who already asked: if ANY game, after its end, is good... why do you even say "gg"?
I am not sure if this is ok, but of course... anyone can say "gg", in any situation.
