Cannot Change Desired Level in Arena Mode

It is not back to normal. The settings appear to be all green for everything within +/-2 levels but I still am having significant waits and can't pair with anyone outside my league despite seeing diamond players(-1 level) also waiting equally long for games. shouldn't we be able to pair instantly with the new settings? I have a real time game at 45+ minutes of waiting and counting and a turn based game at 4+ hours so we definitely aren't talking about an additional 1-2 min of wait time.

I thought that if the levels can be set again, all is cool.

I personally don't get bothered so much in the games i play in Arena, by the speed of finding such desiring players.

Something is definitely wrong here.
Just got premium after taking 2 months break and wanted to play some 7WD arena.

Literally given up multiple times over the past 3 days. It takes 5-20+ minutes just to match with anyone even with premium subscription.
It was never like this in the previous seasons so im guessing it's because im not in the higher leagues? .. honestly just want to get a refund as it's a complete waste of time now.

Indeed, I'm having the same issue. This was not a problem in previous seasons.

Either player defaults have not been reset to "okay" for everything but +- 3 or the forced setting of never playing against +- 3 is having a significant negative impact. I would suggest doing a global reset of the settings and defaulting +- 3 to "reluctant to play with" but still allowing people to set it to "never" manually.

It may not be ideal but getting any game going is better than what we have now.

I'll say it again. The problem is in how things are implemented table based. +/-2 levels means you can still only play against exactly your level b/c all people joining a table need the same exact table requirements. A gold accepts bronze to diamond in theory, but a bronze can't actually join b/c it only accepts bronze to gold (so a table accepting platinum and diamond is not acceptable to the bronze player so it won't join...doesn't matter if there are no platinum or diamond people at the table)...so you end up with gold only accepting gold b/c no other levels match the level allowability of the table. They need to fundamentally change how matches are generated if they want to fix this problem (this is why the only option that mostly works is by allowing all levels to play together).

I've noticed that over the last 4 days or so -- even with free-wheeling settings on some games, it is regularly taking 10 or 20 or 30 minutes to get set up with a real-time Arena game, and it didn't used to be like that.

Does the BGA staff keep metrics on the length of time it takes to set up Arena matches?

Something concrete -- I have not been able to get a real-time Arena match for Papayoo in a full week, with 209 Elite players available in the league and matching set to my level only. I used to have to wait only maybe 5 minutes at most -- now I can go for over 30 minutes and still not get matched.

And one more thing: if I'm reading the Arena season progress banner correctly, there has been a significant drop in the number of Arena games played recently.

It's definitely not working as it did earlier in the is arena season. I have not been able to play a Draftosaurus game all week as the wait times have been at least 20 min (usually i quit after 10-12). It used to be at most 10 min in the later parts of the North America evening but during the day it was 3-5 min at most. I am a gold level 5 which being in the middle would mean that i should have pretty much all levels available to play. I have also taken 2 penalties for karma as i waited over 20 min for playing No Thanks! and i step away for one minute and the game started and i got bounced. Totally my fault but 20 min of waiting was ridiculous.

Following your feedback we are going to rollback to previous config on next tuesday.

As said earlier, we would like to have a better MM for Arena and will try something else in the future, but this way is a dead end.
