Where can I read the BGA(!) Hanabi rules?

Post by apotap »

Yes, I khow the rules of classic Hanabi. But is there any place where I can read special BGA rules for this game ("gun powder" etc)?

"Black powder" is a suit which:
- edit: have 3 fives, 2 four, 2 three, 2 two, 1 one
- is played from 5 to 1
- can't be clued with color

"5-Flamboyants": instead of having one more hint when you play a 5, you launch a dice and must do one of the following depending of the roll of the dice:
- gain one clue
- play a card from the discard pile directly on the color's stacks
- put a card from the discard pile to the deck, and shuffle the deck
- give a color clue
- give a number clue
- remove one error. If you have no error, gain one clue instead

This isn't accurate. There are three of the 5s, two of each 4,3,2 and just one 1. So only black 1 is critical.

Even though I don't play flamboyants usually I'm pretty sure this isn't correct either. It's not a die-roll because that would suggest it could occur multiple times. Never have I seen the same flam occuring more than once during a game. So It's more like there are cards / tokens that you draw and use up for this game.

Also I think on the "Remove an error"-Flam you would get a clue token in addition to the removed error no matter what (not instead of). --> correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Thank you very much, I got it.
But I thought there should be some 'official' BGA text with these extensions?

You can download a PDF copy of the Hanabi: Grand Feux rules from here: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/2239 ... -regles-fr

(The BGA implementation is based on this edition of Hanabi.)

However, these rules are in French, because this edition of Hanabi has only been published in French (so far). If you can’t read French, Google Translate should at least be good enough to allow you to verify which fan-written explanations are accurate.

Jellby, Travis Hall, thank you! Now I got it for sure :)
But I think it would be VERY useful to place description of these extentions AND conventions to the page where I choose my personal setting for Hanabi game.
