Sigh.

Just curious. What problems do you think can be fixed by restricting to a specific time zone that isn't already fixed by restricting playing hours? Please give specific examples.

Players in completely opposite timezone to me join my fast turn based games without realising it, then they very quickly time out.

This assumes that everyone in a specific time zone has the same playing hours. It therefore eliminates all the players who work non-standard shifts, insomniacs, and the like.

So the time zone isn't the issue, it is people joining fast turn based and not noting the playing hours. The same issue would happen if you create a game where you want to play moves before you head to work, and someone in your same time zone plays in the evening.

The problem is: you create a fast game for whatever reason you have, and then it gets sooooo delayed by some person in the other side of the world who either doesn't get the playing times or doesn't care about it and about your time and wishes. Basically, they bomb your game preferences. And you can't do anything because it keeps happening even if you present the game properly as a FAST game.
I don't care about their night shifts or their sleeping habits.
I am very tired of this issue.

Again, the issue is that someone doesn't care about the playing hours, not the time zone they are in.

Um, if you don't care about the restrictions of other players, why should they care about yours? ;)

Every suggestion needs to have its potential benefit weighed against the potential cost. What is fixed, and what could break. So far, I have not seen anything that indicates that restricting by time zone fixes more than it breaks. Be aggressive in karma limits, and put a note in at table creation for players to check the playing times.

Maybe a Pop-up when joining fast turn-based could help. Wouldn't bother many people as most play slower time setting anyway. And as we can see here - many of those who do, do so without ever checking the time-setting.
Check out the Allround-League: https://boardgamearena.com/group?id=7870115 --> a league where you have matches of random games vs. other players in your group. Season 9 registration oct. '25.

Nice, I think this could help.
