Why having edited the "other game site" name? Seems a bit counterproductive, and quite a shift from the "bug" official answer

Yep. The BoardGame Community as a whole benefits together and a rising tide lifts all boats. BGA choosing to set themselves as enemies to any other way I might want to play a boardgame has got me rethinking my use of this site.Which is a ridiculous assumption. The only reason I'm on BGA in the first place is because I learned about it on another gaming site. (Where I also continue to play games.) The way to keep one's customers is to keep them happy, not to keep them from talking about other businesses. Being censored does not make me happy.
Re: Why does BGA claim that *other site* is illegal?
I am the owner/operatior of yucata.de. Obviously, you are lying and breaking laws. Even though you have known for several days of your law-breaking, no visible action has been taken yet. You should contact me IMMEDIATELY to discuss further steps. I advise you that LEGAL ACTION is imminent. It is SHOCKING how your BGA is treating competitors. Calling my site ILLEGAL is not easily forgotten, especially given BGA's history. Are you sure that you own all licenses, given that you are now part of Asmodee and private equity? Really? Did you make the effort to make sure? Or didn't you care? Who's illegal here?. Contact me now. Don't try to censor this message. /Sparhawksourisdudesert wrote: ↑26 September 2021, 16:56 This is obviously a bug introduced in the last update of BGA, that will be fixed very soon.
We try to distinguish from legal and illegal website, to make sure that we you receive a link to a gaming website (which is prohibited by our ToS, btw), you can be warned if this is an illegal/unethical website. A lot of legal websites has been moved by mistake to the wrong category, and it's going to be fixed.
Re: Why does BGA claim that *other game site* is illegal?
Excerpt from the FAQ (which isn't legally the same as Terms of Service, but whatever):
It also says there:
Now mere mention does not constitute advertising. I think this is being interpreted a bit too narrowly...And finally, do not use Board Game Arena communication resources to advertise other gaming websites. If you want to talk about your experience elsewhere, please just say something like 'on another gaming website'.
It also says there:
Chuckling a bit at the thought that technically speaking the admin might now have to consider removing his own accountWhat is absolutely forbidden?
On Board Game Arena, it is absolutely forbidden to:
... defamation...
Breaking these rules can lead to the removal of your account and/or a ban from the website.

That is so unbelievably off-putting that it has me seriously considering canceling my premium membership.

This is ridiculous. I game here and elsewhere, and consider the chat "feature" to be a way to communicate with people (generally friends) about the hobby in general - other sites, stores, events, etc. included. Not for advertising, but as part of general discourse.
The "error" message is way off and I hope it gets fixed asap, but I'm honestly more concerned with the moderation to *other game site* here. It feels pretty gross.
