Do we care about zombie spectators?

Post by JonChambers »

Working on zombie players right now.

Working on spectators next.

I've also noticed a very special client-side error that's only ever thrown for zombie spectators. It's not a stumper. I know exactly what's causing it and can fix it within an hour.

I'll need to write a few extra translation strings, so that the messages sent to the zombie spectator makes sense, because the messages I have so far are factually wrong if you're a zombie spectator. (Please don't fight me on this point. I'm not open to discussing workarounds. Only fixing vs not fixing.)

Should I bother fixing the bug? Or should I give the translators a break?

What do you mean by zombie spectator?
A zombie is a player who has quit or who was kicked out of the game after their time ran out.
A spectator was never in the game in the first place.
If it's about a player quitting, then coming back to watch the game, it's really an edge case and you can probably disregard it.

Yup, that's exactly how I define "zombie spectator".
