Not just Europeans. I am in Mexico (where USD is the secondary currency) and am also billed in euros.

This is usual for many other online services. The main reason is that "euros minus VAT in Eurozone" are more or less equivalent to "us dollars minus taxes in US".

I spend as premium member way too much time here on BGA.

As a result, many important things are neglected. That is why I see my only chance in deleting the user account here at BGA including premium membership. In addition, these statistics here make me feel depressed. For example at CuBirds in the ranking list I have already been over 200 (or 250) several times, only to drop back to 100. Frustrating for me.

Has anyone ever looked at the negative effects here at BGA?

I experienced the same thing with Lucky Numbers. It took me months to reach 300 ELO and I was borderline obsessive at playing it. I eventually vowed that if I fell below 150 again or finally reached 300, I would stop playing it. I finally achieved my 300, removed the game from my favorites and haven't played since.

My advice to you: if you have an obsessive personality and find frustration when your ELO or rank sinks, then just play casual games, don't play ELO. BGA achieves it's main goal of providing a web-based tabletop experience every time we play--there's no need to think in terms of a tournament or our rank in the community of players for a given game. If you cannot break from that mindset, or find that a losing streak brings you more frustration than playing brings you enjoyment, then you probably shouldn't be on BGA and it has nothing to do with the membership fee increasing.

How do I use the message board in a game play? Can just write at the bottom of the page, but can’t seem to get my message up on the board. Using iPhone 12

Do you mean chat? If so just hit the enter key to post the message.

On iPhone, the top of the keyboard shows "Done" and on the bottom right of the keyboard, there is "return"
Done just closes the keyboard, but does not submit your message.
Return sends the message.

Even though BGA is an incredible value (where else can you get this much entertainment for around $2.00 a month?) it still costs me a lot of money! Why? Because I get introduced to these great games and then I feel the need to go out and buy the physical copy! That's were the real expense is. Seriously - you guys do great work and have been adding so much fantastic content. I like playing with friends on BGA when it is not possible for us to meet in person. Keep it up

You can choose to change currency when you pay to $ and pay less. I live in UK but realised that $ is cheapest, then €, and £ was most expensive way to pay

I think it is a nice touch that BGA does this after the release of Agricola, Castles of Burgundy, and King of Tokyo within just one month. I don't think we had a month like this before. So, good timing, with these games, the new price feels even more deserved than it would have been anyway.

I have been on BGA for a VERY long time - the ratio of time I have spent on here playing games vs. the cost for Premium is ridiculously in favor of me as the player - I applaud you for your willingness to communicate this early and is such detail AND for keeping current premium members at the old rate. It was a signifigant bargain at the old price and continues to be at the new price!

Great price for hundreds of entertainment delivered. totally worth it.

Not an abusive increase, and well deserved.

If in the future, more price increase is expected, consider getting advertisers with small banners in such a way that it doen't affect playability.

And who does want to pay for an add free, can also have the option to do it.
