BGA logo: wt* is it?

Post by olanmills »

What is the BGA logo supposed to be? It looks like a weird bubble or cloud. Is it supposed to be an abstract depiction of four people sitting at a round table?

*Moderation edit: please remember this is a family-friendly website and use appropriate language

You just make me realize that I have the same question.

I don't feel like digging through the forums right now, but if you check the official announcements about 4-5 years ago they mentioned the change in the logo.

At now, we are changing the logo. But not completely. A lot of you may have noticed that the dynamic stays the same, with the idea of 5 overlapping circles. These circles used to representi tokens, and now there are players, viewed from the top, symbolized by 4 circles with different sizes. Why? Because players are the heart of this service, they are all from different nations, ages and types, but they are all linked together by a central element : a game table, here on BGA.

This logo is not explicit, because BGA is not only tables and players. This is a community, an idea of what online boardgaming should be. A multidisciplinary and technological leisure that must offer an experience simple but rich, recognizable but unique.

I'm pretty sure it's a comics-style thought bubble, representing the fact that I spend most of my time thinking and I'm really slow to actually make my move.

(Is purple still the color of sarcasm on the Internet?)
