I'd suggest adding confirmation and restart turn buttons. I have countless times mistakenly pressed the wrong square and wanted to go back, but couldn't.

Then make a suggestion using the official bug reporting tool. The chance of the developer noticing a suggestion in a random forum thread is slim.
