BGA Studio is (no more) down

Post by sourisdudesert »

Dear everyone,

A hardware issue (disk issue) occurred on BGA Studio server during last night, and the service is down right now.

We are investigating to see how to restore the service as quickly as possible.

We are during the week end, with a limited team, so this is the worst timing for us :/

Sorry for the downtime :/

EDIT:

- All developer functionalities are available again.

- If some project has not been restored (we restored only projects in production and projects active in the last 12 months), please just make a post here to ask us to redeploy it.

- Also if we missed something and you find a feature is not working, please let us know by posting in this thread (it will stay pinned for a few weeks in the developers forum).

Status update:
  • BGA Studio server seems unrecoverable.
  • We are going to reinstall a new one as quickly as possible, but it is not going to be immediate (24h to 48h downtime)
  • Commited sourcecode is also safe (stored in another service).
  • Data from our latest backup looks safe (Nov 5th 9:00 GMT - so a very few data should be unrecoverable).
This is for sure the most important difficulty we have with Studio in 10 years :/

We are working on restoring the service as quickly as possible.

This is certainly bad news...
Courage and have faith, I know you will do the best :)

Thanks for the update, and sorry for your week-end !
I don't think we can help, but if we can do something, just ask ;)

UPDATE:

We had to reinstall 2 new servers from scratch for the Studio, this is why it is taking so long.

The new servers are accessible but games are missing and we are still working on it. Thus, we disrecommend you to use BGA Studio or to try to access your files for the moment.

UPDATE:

The 2 new servers are functionnal and games are deployed.

However, your rights on servers, as developers, have not been restored yet (this is the last step).

UPDATE:

The servers are safe enough: you can start using them again :)

There may be still some issues: if you see something unusual / wrong, please report it there so we can fix it.

Thanks for your patience!

Please note:
- readonly project accesses have not been restored (if you still need some readonly accesses, you can retrieve them like before by clicking the link "get readonly access" in the projects list)
- for those of you who had uploaded a ssh key for easier sftp access, those keys have been lost and will have to be reuploaded (this process is not yet operational again, but we'll look into it soon)

Overall, there may be some glitches here and there, so please let us know if you see anything wrong! Thanks a lot :)
