I don't think that's true anymore, for this season I think the threshold has been updated to 60%.
Where are you getting this information?

AFAIK, there isn't even a 60% option:

The very well hidden settings I see:

So do you complain that it is not the default? Or that you have to be careful to set it up when creating a table (while it is usually saved for me)?
Or that there is no way for low karma players to regain karma if everyone would use the restriction?

My point is, if u r the low karma player, u shouldn't be able to join infinite tables which u aren't going to play anyways.
U only could join LIMITED tables, until u get like at least 50 karma. Maybe like 5 tables r enough?

Personal Opinion:

I am saying that the default of 0% is not right.

If you try to join a tournament then you're expected to have 100ELO. Similarly for competitive play in Arena a default Karma rating of at least 75% would be ideal.

I'm sure nobody really changes these settings, they are extremely well hidden. It would be nice to have an option to change this particular setting for ALL my Arena games.

@RicardoRix: Default Karma limit in Arena is now 60%. I think that's ok.

I am still confused. What does it matter if they aren't able to join 100 tables or not able to join MY table? If a player is not likely to finish, they are just as likely to not finish 5 games as they are 1, or 20. Does it matter if the reason they can't join is because they are limited to X number of simultaneous games for having low karma, or they can't join simply because they have low karma?

Fair enough. Why exactly the setting still exists...to confuse people like me I suppose.

If they join 5 tables, they can only ruin 5 other people experience.
If they join 100 tables, they can ruin 100 other people experience.
Got it now? :)

It's not only MY problem, it's the whole playerbase problem.

From time to time I've seen some ridiculous statistics for players who are displaying a "100% reputation" rating. Things like, say, 8 quits and 22 red-clocks but because they've played a few hundred games recently, they get to wave the 100% banner. In my book, there's no way that a player with 8 quits and 22 red-clocks belongs in that pristine 100% group.

Since limiting table and tournament access is not very restrictive, therefore, if an 8 quit and 22 red-clock player can slip in through the door; what I'd like to see BGA do is give table and tournament creators more options than just a karma level to restrict access. I'd like the option to limit access to a table/tournament to only those players who are have 0 quits and 0 red-clocks over their recent games.

I agree with the 0 quits but
0 red-clocks can be a bit difficult. If you play fast real-time then you can easily pick-up these, even though 95% of the time you're playing perfectly quickly.
Currently there are 2 bugs that I know about. 4 turns-per-day actually only gives 4 hours per day, not 6. Concept's multiplayer state gives time penalties for some reason.
It also doesn't factor that the more you play the more likely you are to pick-up a red-clock. 0 plays with no red marks doesn't necessarily signify a good player.
