I have been kicked out of the game at the scoring points at azul by my opponent ; the game was over (just needed to place the tiles as it was advanced rules) and i was wining the game, my computer buged so it can be really frustrating especially when you'r trying to play ranking and the victory was mine. Is there anything admins can do to avoid the loss of points. It s just lame to kick out somebody when you know you lost especially when you can turn the game in turn by turn to avoid the other guy to loose karma and elo points.

I don't understand why you said this, especially when the game of the OP needed one more move to win, this message "How about solving your computer bugs/issues, before playing?" wasn't very T. H. I. N. K. to the problem here, the issue happened at the very last move, so this message is a bit mean. I would understand at 50%, but 99% of the game? No, this was an ovious win, and yet, the opponent did a kick out, because the other did bugged out and that is quite trashy move here. I think doing this at the last move to win is very bad, because he actually lose all the points then to actually win the normal ELO.

Yes, it was (most probably) unsporty.
But there was no problem there, and no reason to complain, because the opponent didn't do anything against the rules.

If the COMPUTER DIDN'T BUG OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE, THE OPPONENT WOULDN'T HAVE A REASON TO EXPEL.

I would rather repair my computer or use another one... or something else, before running out of time and complain about getting expelled.

There's a time limit.
Solve your bugs and don't get out of time, or get out of time and risk getting expelled.

There was nothing against the site rules here; it was a matter of bugs and unsporty expelling.
Then again, maybe the other player had an important meeting or an emergency and needed to go, not knowing how long the bugs will go.

As for your T.H.I.N.K., please...

P.S. I would have expelled you, as well, because 1. I don't like waiting and 2. you are in Top 10 in Azul, so I am sure you would manage to get the ELO back on track in no time.

I agree that it's perfectly within someone's rights to expel an opponent who's out of time. But if you're expelling an opponent from a point where they are guaranteed to win the game, and you don't want to wait, I think the decent thing to do is concede. So ultimately, as the player given the decision to wait, concede, or expel from a 100% lost position, it's a matter of what kind of person you want to be.

Regardless, can't really do anything about it after it happens, and you may as well move on. At the end of the day, BGA karma and Elo don't matter at all in life.

But, a completely accurate one.

Every game here has, as an external rule, that players will play in the time allotted or face expulsion. There is no qualifier on what causes the player to be out of time; it could be everything from the player not wanting to play to transatlantic communications being disrupted. About the only exception is a documented BGA server issue. Even with that games are not restored and ELO is not adjusted; only karma penalties are removed.

It would be unreasonable to expect admins to analyze every game where someone was expelled, determine if someone other than the eventual winner(s) was a "clear" winner, and manually adjust the outcome. It would even be unreasonable for this to happen only on games where people report something happening.

Yes, unsporting. Yes, disappointing. But no, nothing should be done about it. Give them a private red thumb so you don't see them again, and move on.

It was 1 single game. It's part of life, you can't win every single game, even is you've won 99% of it.

Unless it happens to you a lot, in which case your priority would have to be to avoid it by fixing the computer issues. You had a case of bad luck, deal with it.

When you are top ten, it's really harder to get back elo's lost, since most players are average or lower, while in most games, the top 10 is mostly expert or master levels, making the progress less good, since a lost against an average make you lose more than a win against the Same person. And imagine the 11th best player didn't have the top 10 trophy + he's 1 elo away to get it. This is truly a tragedy. First, you lost a lot of elo and 2, the opponent unknownbly did a kingmaking move in favor of the 11th place that got a free trophy, all because the old 10th get expelled out when his game was technically finished.

This player, after getting expelled, played 10 more games, winning 9/10.

In my previous comment, when I said "you are in top 10", I meant in the moment I wrote that, not after he got expelled. (when I wrote that, he already had a few games played after the incident)

He was probably in Top 10/~5, he got expelled => Top 20.
Some players got in front of him/her, in Top 10.

About those players: in order to achieve the Top 10 trophy, they needed to actively play an Azur game, and considering how fast the tragically expelled Original Poster came back in Top 10, I doubt that was the case.

Also, some of the players who got in front of him, might have already gained the Top 10 Trophy in the past, in which case... NADA (you can't win a trophy twice).

Considering how things have been in the world lately, to call this A TRAGEDY is a bit unfair, in my opinion.

A player was legally (but unsporty) kicked out of a game, because his/her computer bugged out.
And I also assume he/she lagged a bit during the game, as well; either this or the bug lasted a serious amount of time after having played with no lag until then.
Other details have 0 importance in this situation.

The culprit: The expelled person's bugs.

I think this is a happy ending.
