Hello. Recently I started discovering more games on BGA and I have quite a few that I like. My big problem is that no 1 is playing them in real time and I absolutely dislike "turn based". I am not saying turn based is bad , but for me it is. When I have spare time , I like to play a board game , now , not 1 move every so many hours ... It takes away the board game feeling for me.
As an example I want to use the game called "Nidavellir". I realy like this game and at this moment the site tells me there are 461 games in progress.. Sounds like it will go fast to find a game ! When I click on the "play now" button , the site started searching , and searching , and searching ... No games found.... I check the list of tables and there is 1 "real time" table and a neverending list of "turn based" tables. So 99 % of people have fun playing a game that should take +- 20 mins over a timespan of days ? When u meet with friends to play board games , u also got some hours spare to do so right ? Or do u meet up , play 1 move and meet again after a day do do the next move ? I just dont understand why I see people playing at MANY "turn based" tables instead of just playing a game and enjoying the moment ? Am I forced to play Carcassonne and 7 wonders over and over if I want to play real time ?
I'd like to hear some other opinions , also from people who play "turned based" only. I understand people who play 5/5 difficulty games that take long time to play and chose to go with "turn based". But why go "turn based" for 10-20 min games ?
