When you are top ten, it's really harder to get back elo's lost, since most players are average or lower, while in most games, the top 10 is mostly expert or master levels, making the progress less good, since a lost against an average make you lose more than a win against the Same person. And imagine the 11th best player didn't have the top 10 trophy + he's 1 elo away to get it. This is truly a tragedy. First, you lost a lot of elo and 2, the opponent unknownbly did a kingmaking move in favor of the 11th place that got a free trophy, all because the old 10th get expelled out when his game was technically finished.

This player, after getting expelled, played 10 more games, winning 9/10.

In my previous comment, when I said "you are in top 10", I meant in the moment I wrote that, not after he got expelled. (when I wrote that, he already had a few games played after the incident)

He was probably in Top 10/~5, he got expelled => Top 20.
Some players got in front of him/her, in Top 10.

About those players: in order to achieve the Top 10 trophy, they needed to actively play an Azur game, and considering how fast the tragically expelled Original Poster came back in Top 10, I doubt that was the case.

Also, some of the players who got in front of him, might have already gained the Top 10 Trophy in the past, in which case... NADA (you can't win a trophy twice).

Considering how things have been in the world lately, to call this A TRAGEDY is a bit unfair, in my opinion.

A player was legally (but unsporty) kicked out of a game, because his/her computer bugged out.
And I also assume he/she lagged a bit during the game, as well; either this or the bug lasted a serious amount of time after having played with no lag until then.
Other details have 0 importance in this situation.

The culprit: The expelled person's bugs.

I think this is a happy ending.

Are you really arguing that I'm wrong? No, not at all, I could understand if he surpassed the time multiple times, but it's ain't the case. Same if it was at low percentage of the game. But at winning point and computer did bug out there, and only here? Nah, especially when a single other move was needed, and I don't think he was knowing why this happened. So, why you even get against him, if it happened at a specific time, was the first time he did that in a while and not understand the issue, I don't think we should blame him for any reasons, like, he beat me, 1 move away, why would I do that when I can concede anyways, I lost already, no need to fight. And removing a player when one move away for the win and OP didn't know what caused this, is just a sore loser move.

I am not exactly against anyone or blaming anyone per se (I mean I don't hate you or anything), I just feel there was actually no problem to begin with, and there isn't any need: neither for this Forum Post/debating, nor for giving the ELO back.

So yes, I disagree with both the OP's requirements/post, and with your logic.

How about solving your computer bugs/issues, before playing?

But, a completely accurate one.

Every game here has, as an external rule, that players will play in the time allotted or face expulsion. There is no qualifier on what causes the player to be out of time; it could be everything from the player not wanting to play to transatlantic communications being disrupted. About the only exception is a documented BGA server issue. Even with that games are not restored and ELO is not adjusted; only karma penalties are removed.

It would be unreasonable to expect admins to analyze every game where someone was expelled, determine if someone other than the eventual winner(s) was a "clear" winner, and manually adjust the outcome. It would even be unreasonable for this to happen only on games where people report something happening.

Yes, unsporting. Yes, disappointing. But no, nothing should be done about it. Give them a private red thumb so you don't see them again, and move on.

Well, I shouldn t have posted my complain here yesterday (I totaly agree with that), I guess I needed to talk after that frustration yesterday and my partner was sleeping , next time I ll go for a run around the house or call a psychologist
I m just disapointed that others people would have acted exactly the same.
There is 4 different ways to stop a game and if you are really in a rush knowing you have lost concede is the fastest way (you don t need to wait the time to be out), you can switch the game in turn by turn or even end it without any penalties for each other. The longest one is actually to expulse someone (you get an extra 20 seconds to wait). I know I can' t expect people to be fair play all the time. Maybe, at least, this post will make you think twice before kicking someone knowing the differents options you have especially if you check the profile of the player seeing it is unusual for him "to leave" during a game.

I have to agree.
It’s enfuriating to have people kick you for time outs. I have been play8ng a lot of chocolate factory. I love the game, 3 mins seems like long but almost every player I play against uses nearly all this time even when not necessary for things like fulfilling orders. If people in my game are taking a long time I always message them to see if the6 need help.

The last 3 games I have played. I made an error in my play but was able to undo and re do move, unfortunately this takes time and on all 3 occasions I have been kicked while doing this. I don’t accept this ‘it’s the rules’ stuff.
It’s unsportsmanlike and no one gains from it, except I take a massive hit on my karma. I might not have won anyway that’s not the point.

Be more sportsmanlike please. For me this is the only thing wrong with this site, some players act like nobs.
