As I wasn’t being rude at all, you shouting at me is the pot calling the kettle black. Unless the word “incorrect” is somehow rude where you live? I will wait while you parse my previous post for exactly which word or phrase is purportedly rude, but I am suspecting that it is a subjective assessment on your part, due to not liking to be wrong.

The citation above clearly states “at least one” and not “all,” so the entirety of what you just posted was also to no avail.

@KeithHendricks it may help if we examine a different case to illustrate my point. I realize that Uwe and Frank may rule emigration is optional, and that is fine, but this is an important logical distinction when programming games:

1. Page 9 says you must perform at least 1 action when you use an action space. Everyone agrees on this.
2. Imagine a hypothetical action space that says "You may pay 1 wood for a boat. You MUST pay 1 stone for a shed."
3. It is clear you cannot take this action space without doing anything (that violates both the wording of the space itself, and page 9). However, page 9's wording is merely prohibitive -- it prevents you from blocking an action space with no cost or effect at all. It is not in itself prescriptive, in that it does not specify whether you can switch the order of effects, or whether some effects are mandatory for some space(s) -- that is a different topic and not relevant to page 9's discussion.

@vykintas I spent some time today scouring BGG, but unfortunately I only found my own thread from 2016 with official answers from Frank and Uwe: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/166883 ... 0#24175980

I note that this thread provides an unusual case where even if your large ship harbor is full, you are supposed to be able to convert a whaling boat and immediately emigrate. I suppose the new knarr is conceptually en route before emigration, or perhaps this action is allowed in either order, despite the rulebook explicitly saying "before".

I do not remember if I ever tested this edge case on BGA.

Unfortunately, I have thus far found nothing on BGG about whether 4-viking emigration is optional, though for the base game action space it would likely be a very poor strategic move, even if it is optional.

Are there any of these hypothetical action spaces in either the base game or Norwegians, though?

As the page 9 quote uses the indefinite article “an,” that would indicate you must use a single effect of any action space. Pick any action space you want on either of the boards, and it will be comprehended by that indefinite article “an.”

The quote referring to the whaling ship / emigration action space simply describes how to use the action space, it does not negate the page 9 ruling which indicates you may use just one single effect on this action space.

Here, you may exchange a whaling boat* for
a knarr (if you wish), before using that knarr
or another large ship to emigrate (more on
emigration on page 17).

At least in English, this strongly implies emigration is REQUIRED, but the whaling boat exchange half is OPTIONAL.
This is how it's been interpreted in the BGA game too. I will leave it as it is for the base game, people have been playing it for years after all, and will do the "at least one of the two" rule for Norwegians.

I just tested - you do not get an option to swap ships if your big boat harbour is full. I also tested Labourer - it's triggered when you explore an island with 2 coins on it. Yesterday reading this thread I got an impression that BGA is very strict on official (both rulebook and BGG threads and such) ruleset implementation, but BGA Feast For Odin does deviate from official rulings in one some minor places.

It was a long time ago and I do not think there was a developer available to finish bug reports or remaining cards. There were a LOT of bug reports but I'm not sure how many are true.

The module works well but has some oddities. For example the house / shed modal has been squished in portrait mode for a long time.
