When I play with players matched with higher points than me, I see the tickets they get to choose are the ones with maximum points. I'm currently in 1400s in elite league, if I get matched with someone upto 1800s, 8 out of 10 games they have had the ticket - Seattle to NY, or something similar. I finish 7 tickets like Kansas to Houston, or Duluth to El Paso, basically no more than 13 points. They clearly have an advantage and they win.
Of course there is no unfair algorithm.
I have watched your last match before this post (against Dr Henry Tam, Elite 1800).
- it was a mistake to keep 3 tickets, one in the east, one in the west
- Your 1st move (Seattle - Portland) was not good.
- at the end at the game, don't pick up new cards if the other player is going to finish
...
So, instead of saying you are not lucky, I think you can first try to improve you game...

I find it to be the other way round, lol.

As soon as I get a decent score, the game gives me bad combos, bad cards and my opponents get all the good stuff.

All in the perception I suppose, but it does feel sometimes as though the game is rigged. :D :D :D

The game does this to me when play the actual board game face to face with friends. It isn't the computer doing it, the game itself knows how to frustrate players!

You are probably getting coincidence, not causation

I didn’t ask you to comment or tell me what to do. So, here take your nose and mind your business. Share your opinion don’t make nasty comments.
I agree with you, @satusupari, in both the things(about opinion and the title). It's really unfair.

I agree, if you fart mid-game the game makes sure you lose. It's unfair.

I play way too many casual games with Mega Game turned on and I notice the exact opposite. Once I break 200 ELO, I feel like I get tickets that can't be chained or connected, like Seattle to LA, Winnipeg to Houston and Boston to Miami. Then I drop, get good tickets, crush a game and go back up. I think random tickets and how you handle them are just part of the game. My strategies now yield a pretty consistent ELO centered around 200 over lots of games, and I win with good opening tickets and lose with poor ones. To me, that's an accurate outcome

I've noticed thata a lot of people perceive meaningful patterns in random events.

There's just something about human psychology that people notice it more when they suffer the consequences of a run of bad luck vs beneficiaries of a good luck streak. You started your post saying that you've only noticed this trend "recently." Implying that before you didn't see this happening. If you've playing long enough you probably had a good luck streak too, but you no doubt decided you were winning only because you played before. Don't feel too silly, I've noticed a LOT of people think irrationally in this way.

p.s. I took a look & we've have played exactly one game of TTR, less than a month ago. In that game your initial tickets were LA-Miami, SanFran-Atlanta, and Phoenix-Portland. Mine were Dallas-New York, Vancouver-SantaFe, and Montreal- New Orleans.

So please, do tell how "the algorithm" gave me the better tickets in this game because I (ELO=626 then) was a higher ranked player than you (ELO 343)
