So basically I could check with a devoloper for permission, learn how to code, and add it to this site? sounds easy enough
Totally agree!
I still don't understand why there are just couple of dozen active BGA developers, not thousands. It's so easy: just learn to code and go! There are thousands of games in the BGA Studio licences list!
Where is this list?
When you register as a developer in BGA Studio - you can find it at

I was searching where I could put my suggestion for new games but didnt find it on the site. I'm aware such feature would only get spammed with all kinds of suggestions and be of no use.
Actually, there is this thread with now 199 pages of game suggestions:
https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1040 Although I don't know if it has any real influence on the games that get developped for BGA, I think it has at least two effects:
1) It shows how many games once wanted are now available (starting with Catan, Alhambra and Agricola).
2) When you see the game you are asking for is about number 256,458 on the list...

Both can make you humble.

(assuming the game's rights holder grants permission).
Far from parenthetical, this is the most important part of it. It doesn't matter how badly people want it and whether there is an army of devs willing to work on it, nothing happens without permission.
The idea that there are award winning games out there that BGA doesn't have simply because not enough people have voted for them seems a bit naïve to me. Oh that obscure game "Cascadia"? Never heard of it. Maybe you should post that in the Games Wanted thread so it won't be overlooked. /sarcasm
One of my favorites. And, yes, your point is correct. I'm sure BGA would love to have Cascadia.

I can't imagine it has any effect whatsoever, other than to get those suggestions out of other areas of the forums.
-No one is tallying 199 pages of suggestions
-The publishers already know how popular their games are
-When a developer is leading the charge, they're probably choosing a game they personally want to see
