Digit Code should improve the scoring system. In the case of a draw, both players should have a zero score. It's strange that the player with the higher score has a negative score.

It's not a scoring system, it's a skill evaluation system.

in most games, if you have the higher ELO, you are >50% to lose ELO no matter what.

Yes, what about it? If you tie with another player, your elos should get closer. The higher one decreases and the lower decreases. Elo is a skill evaluation, not an achievement system. So yes, you did not beat the other player, so your elo should not be higher than theirs.
Yes, but if you guessed correctly first and still lose ELO? Doesn't seem to be logical. This implementation of a "tie" is really poor.

You can argue that it should not be a tie, but better not argue that you shouldn't lose elo after a tie.
