It is actually an option setting. If you don't like it you can turn it off in the same "setting screen" than the Concede game one

I am in favor of this feature. A little annoyed when it first happened but having played multiple games since then, I like it. Keeps the game moving,

Just to add another positive voice for it: I like this feature as it speeds up games cutting some useless dead times

I absolutely love this feature, I hate returning to a game to take my turn only to find that my only option is to pass. If your only option were to take a specific turn type it wouldn't bother me but advance in this game is just a pass and I would definitely rather it happened automatically.

Bencoudon wrote: 28 October 2025, 02:25 Why do you think this is annoying? This feature is saving time in fact. When it triggers, there is no possible move, so why would you, or your opponent, would wait until you pass?
I dislike it for the same reason I wouldn't want it to happen in other games. I would rather each player make a even if there is only one move. Maybe I want extra time to think, and I do not wish my move to be made automatically when my clock is already at maximum.

In chess, there are situations in which there is only one move, but the player still makes the move. It is not done automatically.

All in all, it's not a huge deal, but it should be an optional setting, not an automatic occurrence.
This is on mobile... But on the screen where you're playing the game and you scroll down there are "Preferences" the last one is a drop down menu for Auto Advance that you can turn off.

For what it's worth - I see your point about taking time to think. That totally makes sense to me, especially in real-time games. That said I have explicitly asked people I've played with to turn it on before when playing turn-based because it slows the game down.

Just to chime in - I really like this feature after playing a few games with it.
It keeps things moving quicker and less wait time. Thank you for providing this option.

Great change. Why wait a day for your opponent to make a move that's their only choice? Only downside I guess is that it could feel a little disorienting to beginners who are just grasping the rules.
