Penalty for quitting??

It happened a lot with many games in the last weeks. A player lost in texas holdem, have 0 and want to quit the game. It's normal, the player cannot play. He quit and the game changed. We can continue or quit, because someone quit. Really weird.

OK I think I understand. It's likely just because of the standard framework - if a player leaves a game before it is done, then they are penalised and the game results are neutralised. If this isn't appropriate for Texas Hold 'Em, it would need special programming to get around this. If there isn't one already, you should raise a bug/suggestion. Though, per this thread: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47737, you aren't the only one to notice to problem, so possibly there is already a suggestion.

I am curious though, once you run out of money, does it force you play any further? Or are you essentially just a spectator? Cause a similar thing happens in other games (eg. Challengers), but if you don't care about the game, you can just ignore it. Of course, I realise it blocks you from creating another RT game, and if the game goes on for a while, this could be problematic.

There are games with player elimination (e.g. Bang) where I don't think it's possible for an eliminated player to "quit". I don't know whether they use some special programming or there is something provided by the BGA framework. It looks like Texas hold 'em should do the same, but doesn't.
