I mean, couldn't it simply be that there are fractional points determining the ranking but you cannot see them?
I do not know from what he knows this, but he showed several examples when, after completing a non-arena game , the position of people with the same arena ranking changed, confirming his words. (I know that examples sometimes can lead to wrong results.)

I don't have any official confirmation of his words
Wait, so what does this mean practically speaking? If someone ties me for first, they get the tiebreaker. But then if I play a non-arena game, I can retake first?
The question was about who stands higher in the case of the same arena rating, and not about the result of a particular game. I said that if two players have the same arena rating, then the one who last played the rated game is higher in the arena rating list.

For example, if two players are fighting for the first place in the arena and have the same rating, then instead of starting a new game in the arena and risking their rating, they can just play regular games (which they don't even have to win) and which one of them will play last and be the winner.

I would love to hear an explanation from BGA for why they don't just use the actual Arena score. GO to as many decimal places as needed to see whose is higher. Why do it differently from Elo? 2036.4 is higher than 2035.8. No need for some weird mystery secret tiebreaker.

I don't think that this is an intentional choice by BGA. It just happens in coding that there are edge cases and you define intermediate solutions for those, and then fixing the intermediate solution to a real final solution gets forgotten or deprioritized. It seems like someone wanted the Arena score to be integer for some reason, and wanted to think about breaking ties only at a later stage I suppose.

I consider this a bug, it cannot be intentional that non-Arena games affect the Arena ranking. So I would urge people who see this happen to write a bug report and describe the event there in detail or maybe link to the above-mentioned video.
