I've been having similar problems. I have played several games over several days without any problems, and now I'm encountering the same thing over and over: that, the game even though it says no time limit, gets abandoned after 4 hours. This is something new. I've tried to change settings etc, but nothing seems to be working.

Maybe make sure it isn't set to a Real Time game? Apparently another problem that the site admins refuse to address is in the new game start menu, that defaults to real time. I can say I have started up Turn Based games and they don't go away in four hours, but I have read (here on this forum) that this is common with Real Time games.

I learn new games with my Mum,. I really don't want a time limit for these.

I like to play hotseat games . . . but I also like to take breaks. It used to be I could play innumerable hotseat games at one time, and leave them 'running' indefinitely. however now I can't even get one to stay active. So game after game after game is 'abandoned'. This is new and very frustrating, no matter how I change the settings. I don't always have the time to play a game at one sitting, nor I think should I be penalized just because I leave the game. Anyone with any ideas, I'd be super appreciative. Thanks.

You could have read this thread a little bit and found out:
YOU NEED TO CHANGE TO "TURN-BASED" FIRST!
If you start a no time limit game then, it will not abort quickly and practically run "indefinitely".
And yes, the admins should point that out, not the users.

I do appreciate your help. Just kidding around.
Something (I feel) changed with the website, as I could seemingly run several games at the same time indefinitely. Now I get one working for more than four hours, and it doesn't even record the progress that far in.
If you have any other ideas, I'd appreciate hearing about them. By the way, its set to training mode too, so there should be no time limit.
I WILL re-try it and see what happens.

All the training games you have set up in the last days were aborted after 4 hours, which is exactly what happens when you start training games in real-time lobby. There are 2 training modes, one for real-time (that aborts after 4 hours) and one for turn-based (that aborts after 40 days). Yes, it is stupid but it is how it is.
It might well be that they did a recent change specifically for hotseat games. However, when I tested hotseat training games in turn-based mode a few weeks ago, I had zero issues. I got unlimited time and could set up several of those games at once.
I don't buy that you had already changed to turn-based. Could you maybe post a screenshot of the lobby before you start a training game?
