"Thanks for the game" or "Thanks for playing with me" are neutral ways in which we can say goodbye in a friendly way.

No no no. Expressing gratitude places an implicit requirement to respond in kind, either with an expression of gratitude or the acceptance of such. And who is to say that either party even considered such a "game" to be a game?

If you find the common slang "ezpz" to be insufficient I suggest you go with a plain and neutral "bye".
No implications, no misunderstandings, just a plain old parting phrase.

In the same vein as "gg" you should also avoid "goodbye". Who is to know if it is a "good" parting or not.

Also totally agree with OTs last post - why should we redefine language and meanings just in order to cater to those that are too lazy to type more than 2 letters (3, since „thx“ would do already)?

You lot are taking things far too literally.
What happens when someone says bad to mean good, do you fall over in disbelief?
Language and meaning change and alter all the time. Which is why the dictionary is updated each year. You may even find words like Meh, init and y'all in some dictionary's.
You can't legitimately dissect the word goodbye and then say to someone that they can't use it to end a conversation. The same goes for gg. To most that use the expression it covers the broad range of use to simply end the conversion in a positive light, and is used extensively particularly in on-line gaming. Stop making people feel unconformable about using it.

Ironically you may receive a thousand time more respect from your opponent if you do say gg even if you had exceptionally bad luck, and it might prompt a response with a courteous comment to suggest that luck was indeed a factor for the win.

A little off subject, and a smidgen pedantic, but "God be with You" became "Goodbye" in about the 17th Century.

Words don't have meanings as such. For a particular word, there is a set of circumstances where it is appropriate for that word to be used and there is a set of circumstances where its use is inappropriate. Circumstances are context-dependent.

On this site, through custom and practice, it has become appropriate for 'gg' to be used at the end of a game.

It is the insistence that everybody else must decode 'gg' into 'good game' and interpret both 'good' and 'game' literally that is unreasonable, not the use of 'gg' at the end of a game.

I repeat: if we use words in that way, communication will be impossible because, at a certain point (it could be now, listening to your comments), no one will know which is the real meaning of the words he/she is using.

Context doesn't affect the meaning in this case because the context doesn't change here: we are playing games and forever (I hope for the owners of BGA) people will do games here.

Gg is "good game", it is not everything people think that it means. Because in that case gg meaning will be undetermined because every person thinks in a different way respect to another person.

The consequence is stop talking because in every single case we will not understand each other.
