I knew it would be premium, I just didn't know when they would flag it as premium.

It can also be a publisher request.
Do you mean you are a volunteer developer, and after you donate your effort, they change it to premium? Or you know it will be premium before you make it?
Premium and volonteer/freelance are two different things

do developers always get paid (hired) for making premium games?

Short answer is no. Long answer is : kind of.
Beside the money, the only difference between freelance and volunteer work is deadline and quality standards, so that's the main reason why a game would go freelance or not, whether it's BGA paying for it or the publisher. In this case, the game will likely be premium to compensate the initial investment. But the publisher still might want to make the game premium without having any deadline in mind, in which case the game is open for volunteer dev. Until recently, devs were rewarded by a bunch of board games of their choice once the premium game hit beta, but now BGA is experimenting with a kind of shared revenue for the 1st year, which means the developper would also be paid, but has no guarantee about how much.

Looking good... one suggestion is a confirm window if a move would trigger endgame

The last turn message appears and you can undo your move... Isn't that enough / kind of the same thing?

Great version of the game. One suggestion which a few of my friends have also mentioned. Please can we have an option to switch off the last round warning. We find it makes it a better a game when some people haven't realised it's about to end.

I have a concern. I played and saw that when a line is started in one color, if you pick tiles of that color, the game allows you to put them on the line or another line. I have the game at home and I am pretty sure it is not possible to do so. It is too easy. Why would they make it possible here ?

Why not checking your rulebook at home before posting here ?
