You sure about that fix? I'm still missing email notifications today. The newsfeed is currently disabled too, if it makes any difference.

I went to find out about this, as a new user, but the only information the outage message links to is this thread from a year ago describing it as “a few days - no more.” I think it’s been more than a few days :?

To prevent any server shortages, the newsfeed on the homepage is automatically disabled when too many people are connected at the same time. I can confirm this occurred during the past few evenings.
Perhaps the threshold should be reviewed to align with the latest server improvements.
