Well played. Be proud. You set up a 'precedent' for everyone wanting to shame a player on public forum.
This has always been the case anyway. As long as you don’t say someone else’s name. Where is this line drawn?
No, it's not just "as long as you don't say the name," because then you get juvenile situations where people test boundaries trying to figure out ways to uniquely identify someone without saying their name. The policy is about calling a specific player out, not the manner in which you do it. Case in point: someone recently posted suspicions about a player and said how many times they'd played them over the years. There was only one person in their profile who matched if he was telling the truth. My one moderation years ago was for using initials to indicate a player, rather than their full username. I thought that it was ok because the general public wouldn't know who it was, but people who closely followed the Tournaments sub-forum would. I accept that it crossed the line.
The line is drawn at being an adult and self-policing and not playing the game equivalent to "I'm not touching my sister like you told me not to. The stick I'm poking her with is touching her."
Grim acted as if op was creative and did something new which they didn’t. There are constant post that point to other players if one is willing to do a search based on what op wrote. There are whole threads about certain players who abuse tournaments, fast tb, suspicions of cheating etc. if I say “my tournament experience is being diminished on bga because a player continuously times out of games”. All it takes is a few clicks to see who I am talking about. We need to stay away from witch hunts but certain threads are healthy and need to be discussed. Other posters who care enough to get more info on what op writes will then chime in to give their opinion on if they have a valid case or not.
The recent griefing thread is an example. They didn’t call out any player but anyone interested in what op said searched their history to see what they were talking about.

...really nasty unpleasant attacks...
I have not mentioned any user names. I have not "confirmed" any of the baseless speculation made by others. You quoted someone else entirely and claimed it was me "confirming" something. Try getting the most basic facts straight before launching into an incredibly unpleasant post full of attacks.

meeplelowda is correct. Any indirect manner of identifying a player is subject to the same penalty as directly naming the player.
Public forums are NOT the place to post such things. I say this as:
1) Someone who does some volunteer work for BGA, and
2) Someone who has himself been penalized in the past for messing up with regard to this rule, and
3) someone who wants to help people like the OP in this thread avoid penalties.
Please, follow the proper protocols.

To the defense of wrldtmwtfit, maybe rules are now a little more relaxed ?
Admins seem OK with this post existing while permitting an easy identification confirmed by OP.

No, they are not.
The only reason this has not been flagged and removed yet is because no moderator has seen it and no one has reported it.

Previously I was speaking on the accusation by Grim but what did wrld say that ppl believed he should be flagged? Wrld spoke on the same issue that that they have been speaking on for like a year now that appears to be unresolved. Them being restricted from reporting players. There are several active threads that more directly “indirectly call out others”

. A thread that you are very active in (conceding) calls people childish and pathetic and ppl chiming in after they get conceded on are “indirectly calling out players”.
If op is actually trying to report someone because they put best in their name then yes that is petty. Trying to report op on assumptions would be petty. Bga doesn’t need to be that strict.

OP has been literally flagged from reporting for having at least FIVE bogus reports.
OP wants to report someone for having
"Best" in the username.
That is nonsense. End of discussion.
Peace.

I don't think anyone was "nasty." You want to see nasty? Come to my forum. It's essentially unmoderated. We do have moderators, but no one has ever been moderated. We're big on freedom of speech. If people are not forced to act civilized, sometimes they will and sometimes they won't. I've chased out a number of members just by calling them what's now known as the "R-word" (and sundry other words).
I don't know what's better, moderated or unmoderated. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. Apples and oranges.

End of discussion because you say so?

. You didn’t even address any of my points lol. If you read op last thread having 5 bad reports isnt even what gets you flagged and bga admins said that message is misleading and would be fixed. Op alleged bad reports had to have been from yrs ago and bga failed to ever show op the outcome of their reports for them to know they had any bad reports in the first place. That is more “bogus” to me. I too asked bga multiple times for the status of a report years ago out of principle and never received any (won’t give further details bc then I can be flaggged for “challenging moderation on forums”

).
