Prevented from reporting problematic behaviour

Post by wrldtrvllr »

I just tried to report a user who has a blatantly triumphalist and provocative username. This is in clear contravention of the code of conduct:

https://boardgamearena.com/faq?anchor=f ... sofconduct

On Board Game Arena, you should not:
Engage in provocation / triumphalism / defeatism... anything which is not fair play.

When I click "submit", I see the following message: "Sorry but the 5 last reports you submitted to moderation did not manage to convince our moderation team (no ToS violations, or not accurate enough). You cannot write any other reports until Feb 11th 2026"

How exactly am I supposed to know whether or not any report I make has convinced the moderation team? I obviously only bother to report what I see as clear violations of rules. If nobody gives me any response of any kind, until they suddenly prevent me from making any reports, how the hell do you expect me to know what, exactly, you did not find convincing?

Out of curiosity, did you try to report a user that had "best" in their username?

Ask yourself, could this be better handled by giving them a red thumb and moving on with your life as opposed to scouring the Code of Conduct to find something you can "get them" with?

Also, why is this a new thread when you already made this one: Prevented from reporting insults

That's "the one". :)

Clearly triumphalist. Obviously blatant.

Woah ...
I pity the moderators ...
At least they will have a little respite until February ...

Don’t you know? “Best” is a four-letter word…

Is this a joke?

Someone wants to report a player for having the word "best": in the username?

No wonder that person has been blocked from reporting anyone else.

Someone with "wrld" in their username, which is clearly imperialist and provocative

Keep your nasty toned comments to yourselves. Nobody knows which username I reported; I didn't say it and it's not relevant anyway. The questions still remain:

BGA admins might know, but it would be hilariously inappropriate for them to confirm it here.

That said, your questions do have some validity. BGA seemed to suggest in your last similar thread that responses were being sent by email which many people were not receiving. It seems to me that the responses should be available on BGA itself rather than email only.
