As you say, regardless of any misunderstanding you have about how long someone else will take, one can't run out of time on these settings if one is actually logging in every two days. If instead they were only logging in within two days of when they thought their opponent's window of time would close (due to a misunderstanding), then they could easily run out of time.nik592 wrote: ↑10 March 2026, 22:54That would make some sense, but as you say, you can't predict what other players are going to do. The comment though was:
Which suggests THEY (OP) are going to login every 2 days and take moves. But they didn't. Worst case, they should have made sure the email notifications that it's your turn are turned on, so they knew when their 2 days started ticking down each time.
I can easily see there being a misunderstanding due to the way turn-based games are described as "X moves per Y day(s)." Some people read that as EACH player MUST ALWAYS make X moves EVERY Y days (i.e., they think it's a minimum). Others read it as EACH player CAN ONLY make X moves every Y days and the next person's turn doesn't begin until Y/X days expires (i.e., they think it's a maximum, which could have been OP's confusion). In reality, it's neither of these, except for the edge case where you let your time run down to 1 second, then continue to let it run down all the way every move.
Would there perhaps be less confusion if each option was only described in the "+Ah00 per turn (maximum Bh00)" format?
