Folks. Have you seen the news about PHP security holes?

I don't think BGA is doing this intentionally. File a bug. Email support.

Yup, I’m getting the same pop up ad with a blocker enabled.

Yes, if this is not a mistake I will definitely not be renewing.
Calm down. My guess is it is probably a new issue or change with the ad network and maybe they can reconfigure it or tell the ad network to fix it. I've always gotten the impression that they don't want to be associated with gambling, so they probably dislike this happening as much as you.

They may not be aware that it is happening yet so you can let them know, politely, at support@boardgamearena.com.

Also, you can turn off the ads if you wish under your settings (Update My Information), then Advanced:

"Display banners
Banners help BGA attract more game publishers. You can disable them if you are supporting BGA as a Premium member."
I have a premium account with that banner option disabled, and I never normally see popup ads like this.

It was so incredibly odd I wondered if it was related to the recent PHP security update news.
I'm also premium and have it disabled. I didn't see any popup or other ads. Never see any. On macOS Ventura I use Brave, so that may be the answer there, but on iPhone I am on Safari which doesn't block ads (or I've never found the setting to), but I still haven't seen any ads there on BGA today or prior. US based FWIW.

Is this only on the app? I don't see it.

What platforms are you all seeing it on? Hardware and OS/Browser/Blockers in use. Wonder if there is a pattern or if it's just random. Seems the ad itself is the same or similar across users who do see it.

Nope, that doesn't fix the issue. This is a true ad that they are forcing on paying members out of nowhere.
