I played and saw that when a line is started in one color, if you pick tiles of that color, the game allows you to put them on the line or another line. I have the game at home and I am pretty sure it is not possible to do so. It is too easy. Why would they make it possible here ?
This seems to be the biggest misconception in Azul. You can put tiles of the same colour in different rows, as long as it's done in separate turns

it is crazy, i spoke about that the other day with huge players, in an association and all of them had understood like me the rules. but i did read them again and nowhere it is said that you can't start another line of the same colour! i don't know why we all understand the contrary ! maybe it is the way the French rules are written, i don't know :)

This is just based on my understanding and (slight) experience but might be a different case altogether.
When it is still in Beta mode, meaning they are still trying to see if it works. On the technical side, if it functions as it does on the real board game gameplay. On the marketing side, if people would be receptive to it and would be their money's worth.

On my experience, we release beta for those reasons and for free since we want to get something out of it (feedback, review, etc). Once we get those, we rework and test again before we sell the game. But of course, that's a paid game and this one is a paid platform (BGA).

Just my thoughts.

I think it shouldn't be since it's still Beta version.
Why would there be any link between beta and premium ??

That's why the term beta is a bit confusing here because that's actually more what alpha is for.
I am not saying that a game fresh out beta is 100% bug free or completely finished, but it should give you already a playable experience without trouble except in rare cases. In addition, there are just too many games in beta waiting for a spot on the news to be "fully released" so beta also acts as a placeholder for games that are just waiting for a spot.
Taking all that into account, I really see no reason why people shouldn't need premium once the game hits beta, especially with "simple" games like Azul that should works pretty well after alpha.
