Board Game Arena

I agree with a previous posting that Arena formats are unlikely to change much if they are driven by the people who already play them a lot as they like that format; the people who have little interest in the current format would not play and so would not gain the chance to vote and change them.

To combat this, would it be possible for games with multiple extensions/variants to have two Arenas: one for the base game and one for different extensions/variants? This would allow the purists to maintain their base game, and people that like extensions/variants to vote on which extensions they want each season.

Thats a good idea. In Lost Cities there must easily be enough interest to get have separate 1 game and 3 game arenas.

It makes no sense being designed a "guru" when my ELO is below 100 and cannot take part in Arena (even if I wanted to).

It's seems the Guru role ends today ?

I am a guru of a game I only played twice and not that fond of... hmmmm

In my case, "Being a Guru of X" doesn't make much sense.
I am Guru of Iwari where I am losing my 10th game in a row.
I am Guru of Murus Gallicus where I just played 2 games casually (won).
I am Guru of Herooj where I played four times, won one.

I think being a Guru should be connected to how much you play and how much you win... I play a lot of Iwari and I can't get the hang of it.. why should I be a Guru?

The only sensible one is I am Guru of a game I invented (Isaac)
