1. I LOVE 3 player arena - many people posted why
but also
2. I HATE the length of the game.

To me 2. can be addressed by decreasing turn time. It is insane to have 3+ minutes EACH, while you also have the 2 other players' time to think. You end up with people going somewhere else and returning late for their turn as a side effect.
Very good insight and have to agree that indeed the main issue for me is the duration.

Isn't this under your control? You can pick the time per turn in the settings even on arena mode right?

Oh, looking at the settings you only have three choices all without details.
  • Fast Paced
  • Normal Speed
  • Slow Speed
Is Fast paced three minutes per turn?

Ok, so it's not 3 mins a turn. It's a max bank of three mins with a 40 sec per turn timer.

Which I guess means if you take 3 mins for one turn, you can build it back up to have another three minute turn 4/5 turns later by playing almost instantly for a while?

Why 3p again? Three players was a good experiment, but the number of games shows that 3p was much less popular - 91,000 games compared to 222,000 last season. Even if you consider that 2p is played one and a half times faster than 3p, the difference is still very big.

Because the players who love the 3 player mode are the ones who got to vote since they played much

What a pitty....i was really hoping to go back to 2. Gives an opportunity to try other games since this format hardly works for me.

How much do you need to play Wingspan to become a Guru? Spamming Splendor (2player) Arena made me easily a guru. I tried really hard over holidays to play as much wingspan as possible, but with this game length it's reaaaally hard

It's really quite surprising to see this happening. Usually games trend towards having gurus that like lower player counts, because games go faster with less players, giving those that like them a boost towards guru status which is based on games played rather than any invested time calculation.

Great to see Wingspan bucking the trend. And giving those pink powers a chance to shine.

It's very strange because if I go on the main Arena page of Wingspan, and I click on "Consultez les règles de la saison" (Consult the rules of the season), then I see "2 players".

I didn't play any game yet this season but from what I read here and the game played by ithers, it seems it's still 3 players.

Is there any Guru here to confirm that the decision was 2 or 3 players ? Thanks!

I am confused as well. According to the game page, both last season and his season were 2-player, but that's no correct. Last season and this seas are/were 3-player, right?
