Thank you BGA team! Relieved this wasn't intentional, but sorry the team now has to deal with all of it. Appreciate the update

Glad to hear something from bga. But, please keep us informed of developments. If some illegal gambling site is that easily able to infiltrate bga security. I am quite worried what else they infiltrated. That should have never happened.

We will update this post as soon as we have confirmed information to share bga.li/3K2J.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our team investigates.
Greetings, while the link

Code: Select all

bga.li/3K2J
works if I manually enter it in a web browser, it does not work when clicked from the forum.

Instead, the link goes to

Code: Select all

https://boardgamearena.com/forum/bga.li/3K2J
which does not work.

This was obviously a hack and not intentional. I’m surprised so many people thought it was legitimate and were ready to cancel their subscriptions.

It’s not that surprising to me. Current management is widely perceived as uncommunicative and willing to do things that make the site worse for no readily apparent reason (“new lobby”, Elo changes, tournament page changes). So it’s not that surprising so many people jumped straight to them being a bad actor instead of being hacked.

There’s probably a lesson in there for BGA management… if they’re paying attention.

Where else can we go? BGA has built a superior product don't act surprised when monetizing the monopoly starts to show up.

At least this time was a fluke!

Not sure if they changed something in the interim, because the link works for me. But just in case here is a non-shortened version: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52066
