It appears that elimination games act the same as was described for round robin games.
(see https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... 956#p53956 )
The player with the oldest account on BGA wins ties.

Hi there!

Just completed one Multiplayer Elimination tourney recently.

I noted that the players who were missing placed higher than someone who was able to show up for their game but lost.

Although it's not necessarily a big deal, but players who showed up should at least place higher than those who were missing.

Thanks! I appreciate all the work and effort being done by the BGA team on improving the site.

I think the oldest account can be unfair, but depending of the lowest elo will make more sense, since the lower did get a tie whit someone higher in elo than him. But the oldest of them, clearly unfair for newcomers and they mostly like to be lower in elo than their opponents. But, it's could depend too.

It would appear that the recent changes affected Round Robin tournaments. Round Robin tournaments now default to stage_playernbr = 3, which is not allowed.

i don't understand why the bga doesn't say anything about this but keeps everyone guessing.

At carccasonne it would be easy to let the starting player be eliminated in the event of a draw because he gets one more card, which unfortunately is not the case.

so far i've seen tournaments where it had nothing to do with elo, time spent or bga registration date who advances so i guess it's just random who advances.

Maybe an adimin could finally comment on this if the rules have already been revised.
