Just played a game of Sab with three people with were helping each other out during the game regardless of what their role cards were. I really do not want to spend 20 mins of my time in a game where people are playing like this. Would you consider this trolling? Is it allowed? They were also speaking about me in French when they knew I did not speak French.

Kingmaking is the term when one player plays in such a way that is not beneficial for them, but beneficial for a specific other person.

The each chat message has a link to Google Translate, so you should be able to follow the conversation.

If it is kingmaking, report it through the appropriate channels -- chat logs are saved for a limited time, and the moderators can determine if it happened or not. Kingmaking is one of the specific activities banned when joining the site.

That's the second time I've seen that. I know how to play Hearts, but I don't know what "covering your passes" means. I'm not familiar with this terminology. Will someone please explain what this is supposed to mean? And a "moon passer." How do you "pass" a moon?

i think that 'cover your pass' means to keep a card in reserve that will trump a card that you are passing. the idea is to minimize the chance that someone will shoot the moon, but it doesn't always work. and intrepid accuses others of not covering their passes when he is guilty of it himself (he blamed others for his own mistake at least twice in the ONLY game that i have ever played with him).

So now I can comment to intrepid. Here's the thing: I just said I don't play that way, i.e. "cover my passes," and never have. So, since you (intrepid) think this is bad playing and everyone is going to suffer, well first, people don't shoot the moon very often to start with. And the last time they did in a game of mine, it was everyone else who wasn't paying any attention or helped in any way whatsoever (slipping out their lowest cards to duck under), and I single-handedly, all by myself, stopped it. And did it in a way that did not require me "covering my passes." You've posted about this more than once and act like people are doing this intentionally, etc. Maybe they just don't play very well, or like me, have other methods which can and do work.

Of course it's not going to do any good to report it, because people are not required to use any particular strategy in a game and it doesn't break any site rules, and as stated, there are other ways of dealing with it, and no way is the site going to decide YOUR strategy is the only appropriate one. I find it incredible you'd think reporting strategy is actually legitimate. And since shooting the moon is in the rules and allowed, you can't automatically give someone negative points.
