Tokaido tournament with only 0 points distributed at the end

On tournament https://de.boardgamearena.com#!tournament?id=6671 with top favourite Journeyman ending on 4th place the 1st three players got 0 prestige points each. I am sure that at start of the tournament the prestige available to earn for the winner was at least several hundred points.

Any idea what happened here?

This is probably a bug. The prestige has also been removed retroactively from several tournaments, such as Traveler Tourneys, Atomix, and SMASH SMASH tournaments.

Only tournaments played with ELO on will get prestige points. I think this is a good decision.

Yes. A lot of tournaments were created with Elo off to get prestige points. This was unfair : you are part of the competition (with Elo On and prestige) OR you are out of it. There is no half situation.

I agree with the decision to remove prestige from future tournaments that aren't ELO rated, but I don't think it's fair to remove previously earned prestige from players who participated in those tournaments.

Unfortunately this needs to be retroactive, if you don't erase them, you put players who did not gain points this way at a huge disadvantage. I suspect (and hope) more retroactive scoring on tournaments will occur. For some examples, small number players in a tournament with big prestige due to a scheduled large number of rounds, tournaments that are invite only, tournaments that are created to start in the very near future (not adequate time to fill up).

Absolutely. We'll do this at some point in the future. Otherwise the prestige won't mean anything.

i was surprised no one else noted this change on the forum earlier lol.

at first i was bummed, since i pretty much only set up / play ELO off tourneys. but i understand the principle that they shouldn't count for prestige, and hope that the other prestige-point abusive tourneys are addressed soon.

that said, i am glad that the trophies already awarded still remain on player profiles. i am always on the lookout for interesting trophy images, even if they give 0 prestige. but that means that i am less likely to sign up for future ELO on tourneys since i don't want to bump those trophy images off of the top10 for a game on my profile.

I agree with the listing of ELO off trophies if there is space left on the top10 item list of that game.

You have enough space on all games for future trophies. Only for "Die Paläste von Carrara" and "Metromania" you would loose trophy images from top 10 in near future. So happy playing on tournaments with interesting items (either ELO on and ELO off)

I've lost lots of prestige points, but I agree with senatorhung: I understand why admins decided to do this and I respect this decision. It's right!
