I am new to BGA. How can I find an alphabetical list of games that are available? Thanks.

I've been thinking this for a long time. Having an alphabetical list on the Games page just seems like a perfectly natural thing to have. Even more annoying that every time you go into the list of all games, it's changed order.

Having to get a list off a forum doesn't solve the problem, or even a (not updated) list in the Help files. I have a list in a spreadsheet and when new games are added it I add them to it, so I have a completely updated list already, included the two newest games.

But the first place anyone is going to go to find the games is the Game menu. That is the most intuitive thing a new user is going to do to find what games we have. And while there is a button for "all games," it comes up in some random order, which changes all the time. So if you're looking for something in particular and don't know what categories it might be under (since things like core gamer, medium and casual are a bit subjective, along with length of play, etc.), it's easiest to just go to "all" games. And all of these lists are random.

If I"m trying to find the actual game I want in that list, I have to just search through the list and get totally bug-eyed trying to find what I'm looking for.

Why can't that list be alphabetical? I can't find any logical reason why it would not be, or why it would be difficult to make it so.

Would be great and probably not too complicated to set these lists alphabetical.
I have more than once wondered which the sorting criteria is.

The problem with some of the categories is that they are not complete or with misleading items.
In the dice game category there are some complex strategy games (Troyes, Polis) which are apparently no "classic dice games" even if dice are used, while a game like Yatzy is missing.

In 2-player games there are some games which can be played with two or more players. This might not be wrong, but it's not what I would expect here (pure 2-player games).

Well, yeah, there is that too. I have to wonder when new games are added, if different people are deciding where to include them, so that all sorts of different opinions come into play. That obviously would not be consistent.

I tend to not use the categorizations. That's one reason I just made my own alphabetical list and keep it up to date. If I want to know what something is, that's what BGG is for.
