Egality = ranking lost

Post by Bok78 »

Hello
I just played a game and i lost ranking even though it was equality.
Is it normal ? I think a draw should be treated as even for each player.
Regards.

If your ELO is higher, a draw is less than you should reach. This results in a slightly loss of ELO points.

But in game rules it is said that in this case, the victory is shared. So we both wins :(

That may be, but ELO changes are intended as a result of expectation vs. reality. If you ELO is higher, you are expected to win, not tie for win, thus if you do anything other than win, you lose ELO points to reflect the change in skill estimation.
