"Create" an avatar, I just use photoshop for edit it...

Flaticon and Iconfinder are wonderful when you haven't idea about what kind of avatar you wanna use.

Also, notice that some of the avatars have features like transparent backgrounds so they don't have a square look, they kinda' float. My avatar, interestingly enough is the fire symbol from the last avatar. You know the dude with the big fat arrow on his head ;-)

I used an online icon editor to give my avatar the transparent feature. Unfortunately, that was over 4 years ago so I don't recall what editor I used but I'm pretty sure it was a png editor.
