War games?

Post by GRIFFONcs »

Is there any plan to get some dudes on a map style war games in the near future? Something like Kemet, inis, war of the ring, ethnos, etc? If there are games like that on bga already that I missed could someone please direct me to them? I'm pretty new to the site.

Not that I'm aware of, but I think something like one of those would make an interesting addition. I'm curious to see how well alliance based games would work when not everyone can speak the same language. Such a big part of war type games is convincing other people to do what you want, so playing with random people might prove challenging.

isn't that all part of it? It's not like all allied countries did/do exactly what each other wants.

I'm not sure they exactly qualify as war games, but could try Polis, and Battle of the Hill 218.

Of course they won't do exactly what you want, my issue was more with inability to communicate in game if not everyone speaks the same language.

That's what the translate button is for :)

Yeah, no mechanical translation is going to be perfect. But, there is an option on table creation to restrict by language as well. It is an obstacle with not everyone speaking the same language, but not an insurmountable one.

Yes, you're still describing real world problems which probably makes it more authentic to real-life.
