Why is it tolerated that everyone write in the chat what their cards are
after all, it is forbidden in the instructions

everyone exchanges information about who has cards before each move

Is it ? Since this is a bluff game, as long as it remains public information available to all players, I don't see it as an issue.
I ususally play Saboteur 1 with 7 players and "max sabs" variant, and not communicating would result in a pure gamble.
What's actually interesting is the said and the unsaid...

Edit: After reviewing the rules (both French and English), I couldn't find where "it is forbidden in the instructions". Could you be more specific?

Each player receives one

Okay, but if you play at a table, it's totally legal to TELL other players what cards you have. You could be lying, and that's part of the game. The only thing that's illegal is actually showing the cards, which you can't do on BGA anyway (unless the other players are like... taking screenshots with datestamps and sharing those somehow... THAT would be breaking the rules.)

1) People can lie
2) Whatever you say in public chat - opponents see it as well and can use it to their advantage. If people spoke in private, then it would be cheating.

You raise some valid points regarding consequences for telling your cards.
However, cosidering it breaks the game remains your opinion. I for one consider not telling anything breaks the game (and I'd be happy to further discuss on that).

Now debating whether "reveal" actually means "show your card" or "tell your card", I'd stick to sourisdudesert's answer above.
